The labour pool from which our local industries draw is considered amongst the most skilled in North America. This pool of labour has developed its talent through high quality education facilities and the job market that presently exists. Local employers benefit from a labour force that is highly skilled, well educated and ethnically diverse. According to the 2001 Statistics Canada Census, more than 70% of residents have earned a high school or trade school certificate and 22% have completed a university degree.
